Information we collect
When you create a Vexling account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use signed-in features, we store puzzle progress, completion times, and game statistics to provide features such as leaderboards and streaks.
Vexling mobile
Vexling mobile does not require an account. Puzzle progress, completion times, preferences, and downloaded game data are stored in the app's local database on your device. If you choose to sign in, Vexling syncs account progress so it is available on your other signed-in devices. Signed-out and account data use separate local storage; the app asks before copying signed-out progress into an account. You can erase local data from Settings.
Network requests
The mobile app contacts Vexling's servers to download curated puzzle content. As with most internet services, Vexling and its hosting providers process network information such as an IP address, request headers, and the requested URL to deliver and protect the service. Anonymous mobile content requests do not include a Vexling account identifier or the puzzle progress stored on your device. Signed-in sync requests include your Vexling account session and the progress needed to provide sync.
How we use your information

Authentication
Where sign-in is available, we use Google or Apple authentication. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password. We receive the account identifier and profile information that the provider makes available, such as your email address and name.
Cookies
The website uses essential cookies for authentication and may store preferences such as your selected theme. The mobile app stores its Vexling session in operating-system secure storage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Analytics
When configured, the website uses Google Analytics to understand information such as pages visited, puzzles played, game types, completion events, and time spent. Website analytics does not include puzzle answers or saved progress. Google may process browser or device identifiers and network information under its terms. Production versions of Vexling mobile use Google Analytics for Firebase for app/session events and route-template screen views. Mobile analytics is not linked to a Vexling account and does not include puzzle content, answers, game IDs, or progress. Advertising-identifier support is disabled, and analytics is not used for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
Crash diagnostics
Vexling mobile does not send crash reports or performance diagnostics to Sentry. We do not use diagnostics for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. Service providers process information on our behalf to host, secure, and operate Vexling as described above. Puzzle and profile information is visible to other people only when you use public website features such as leaderboards or public profiles.
Data retention
Signed-out mobile puzzle progress remains on your device until you erase it or remove the app, subject to your device's backup and restore settings. Account data is retained while the account is active. You can delete your account and its synced data in the mobile app's Settings, or use the account deletion page without the app.
